Donor Spotlight | Week of November 4

Great Cycle Challenge

SickKids Foundation would like to thank the entire Great Cycle Challenge community for their participation in this year’s cycling challenge.

During the month of August, more than 13,000 riders from every province and territory across Canada set themselves a personal riding goal and challenged themselves to pedal throughout the month to fight kids’ cancer.

Riders collectively rode 2.9 million kilometers and raised an incredible $7.2 million for the Garron Family Cancer Centre, to fund life-saving research to develop safer and more effective treatments and find cures for all childhood cancers. This year marked the 9th year of the challenge, which has now raised over $50 million since its inception.

Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation

We are delighted to recognize Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation as our Donor of the Week.

The Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation came to life in November 2020.  Their goal is to support family caregivers while inspiring the rest of Canada to do the same. Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation has invested in Connected Care at SickKids program which provides education and virtual support for caregivers transitioning from hospital to home with a child who is dependent on medical technology. With Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundations’ support this novel program is a key driver in our ability to deliver this service which not only improves patient safety and health outcomes but builds confidence through a support network for parents and caregivers.

Thank you, Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation, for your leadership and support!
