Barbados Canada Foundation
Since its inception in 2013, the Barbados Canada Foundation has been a steadfast supporter of the SickKids Caribbean Initiative (SCI), which focuses on pediatric cancer and blood disorders in the Caribbean. Founded in the same year, the Barbados Canada Foundation aims to empower youth and improve the lives of those in need through funding of scholarships for youth of Barbadian descent and health care initiatives like SCI. Responding to the call of SickKids Foundation in 2013, the Barbados Canada Foundation has been instrumental in helping children in Barbados and across the Caribbean through SCI.
Over the years, the Foundation has organized galas and golf tournaments to raise funds for SCI, spreading the word about the incredible impact made possible by donors. As we enter the second phase of SCI, Barbados Canada Foundation continues to provide much-needed funding to support the Victor Blanchette Caribbean Endowment Fund in honor of Dr. Victor Blanchette, a founding member of SCI.
